What does ESPN know about hockey anyway geez

I think the best way to gauge a team is to ask yourself if I had to replace all the players on the Leafs with another team, which one would it be.

For years, I would have 25 other teams I'd trade for.

Now, I can think of 1 or 2, maybe an outside chance at a 3rd.

What I ultimately am saying is prospect rankings or not, I'm good with this roster and pipeline.

Leafs had nowhere but the Marlies to put him. On top of that, he would probably have been 3rd or 4th liner on the Marlies. He'll be in the top six on the Avs.

Toninato is taking a risk, one that might pay off for him long term. He’s joining last year’s worst NHL team who had one of the worst AHL teams in the west. That says there’s ice time to be earned.

His only option in Toronto was an AHL deal like Martins Dzierkals took. That said there were a lot of bodies ahead of him.

Toninato always intrigued me as a prospect. He looked like someone who could've potentially been a steal for us. I remember watching his first rookie camp and being surprised at what he did. Sucks he didn't want to hang around and join this stacked team in the future, but also understandable as he will get an opportunity right away with Colorado. Best of luck to him.

it already sounds like he is a dark horse to make the team out of training camp as a 4C/13th Fwd. Avs need Cs, especially Defensive ones in the pipeline.

It's a rather misleading list. Flyers rank 1st this year, but if Patrick plays 25 games in the NHL, he won't be on the list next year and they will move down the rankings. Toronto is teeming with young talent - who gives a (frank) where they rank. This waste of time considers Marlie and Junior players that have yet to play in the NHL - and the Leafs are ranked 13th - not bad when 7 rookies graduated to the big club.

EDM is not a good team. They over achieved last season. Without McJesus they are literally a basement team. I wouldn't trade teams with them ever. And Pittsburgh is going to fall soon so I wouldn't trade with them either.
